Logs and records
Everything about writing the history down.
- The three ways to add an entry
Scan a document, write the entry yourself, or type one sentence as quick entry. All three end up as the same kind of record.
- Record types and statuses
Every entry has a type — Service, Modification or Parts — and a status: Logged, Planned or Suggested.
- Editing, re-dating and deleting an entry
Use the pencil menu on any entry. You can edit everything, change only the date, or delete it.
- Selling a part
A part sale is logged like any other entry, with the buyer, amount and date, and it counts against your running costs.
- Oil and fluids
Oil, brake fluid, coolant and gearbox oil are logged as service entries, with the product and quantity where you know them.
- Attachments: invoices, photos and PDFs
Any entry can carry files. Attachments are private by default — visitors to a public car see that a record exists, not your paperwork.
- Importing history from a spreadsheet
If you already keep a list in Excel or Numbers, import it in one go. You review which column is what before anything is saved.
- How current mileage is worked out
Between your own readings, Elferlog estimates today's mileage from your average daily distance over the last two years.
